Can I change the pressure gauge to a different range?
The Prestaflator Digital features an easy-to-read digital pressure gauge, allowing accurate pressure readings across a wide range of bicycle tire pressures. Unlike traditional analogue gauges, there is no need to change gauges for different pressure ranges.
The digital gauge is integrated into the tool and is not designed to be replaced or modified.
Is it safe to use an air compressor with bicycle tires?
Absolutely! The Prestaflator Digital is specifically designed to give cyclists precise control when inflating bicycle tires using an air compressor.
Our unique variable-rate trigger allows you to regulate airflow with precision. A light squeeze delivers small amounts of air, while a firmer squeeze increases airflow for faster inflation.
For even greater control, place a finger or thumb behind the trigger to limit its movement. This makes it easy to add small amounts of pressure without overinflating your tires.
Always use an appropriate compressor pressure setting and check the tire manufacturer's recommended pressure limits.
How do I use the Quick Presta head?
Simply push the Quick Presta head onto the opened Presta valve until you feel a slight click. There's no need to screw the head onto the valve.
The head only needs to slide past the loosened valve tip to create a secure seal.
If you're working with a completely deflated tire, the valve may push back into the rim. Simply support the valve from behind the tire while attaching the head.
Why is the Quick Presta head sometimes difficult to install or remove?
Some Presta valves have larger valve tip nuts, which can make certain inflation heads harder to fit or remove.
Prestacycle's updated rubber insert is designed to accommodate a wide variety of Presta valve designs, providing a secure seal while allowing easy installation and removal.
Avoid pushing the head farther onto the valve than necessary. It only needs to engage past the loosened valve tip.
If your Prestaflator has an older head design, a Prestaflator Rebuild Kit may help improve compatibility.
Can the Prestaflator Digital inflate Schrader valves?
Yes! The Prestaflator Digital is compatible with Schrader valves.
The standard hose connection can be threaded directly onto a Schrader valve for secure inflation.
For riders who frequently use Schrader valves, we also offer an optional Quick-Clip Schrader Head, providing a faster and more convenient connection.
Can I release air from the tire using the Prestaflator Digital?
The Prestaflator Digital is primarily designed for controlled inflation rather than tire deflation.
Our Quick Presta heads feature a one-way design, helping prevent air loss when removing the inflator from the valve.
The variable-rate trigger allows you to approach your desired pressure gradually, reducing the need to release excess air.
Does the digital gauge display tire pressure or compressor pressure?
During inflation, the Prestaflator Digital measures the pressure inside the inflator, which equalizes with the pressure inside the tire when the Presta valve is open.
This allows the digital gauge to display the tire pressure rather than simply the compressor's supply pressure.
For the most accurate reading, release the inflation trigger and allow the pressure to stabilize before checking the display.
Does the Prestaflator Digital work with all Presta valves?
The Prestaflator Digital is designed to work with standard Presta valves, including both threaded and smooth valve stems.
Our Quick Presta head uses a specially designed rubber insert to grip the valve securely without requiring a threaded connection.
This makes it quick and convenient to use across road, gravel, mountain, and other bicycles equipped with compatible Presta valves.
Why choose a digital inflator over an analogue inflator?
The Prestaflator Digital combines the precise airflow control of our variable-rate trigger with the convenience of a digital pressure display.
Digital readings make it easier to monitor pressure without interpreting the needle position on an analogue gauge, particularly when making small pressure adjustments.
It's an excellent choice for cyclists who regularly switch between road, gravel, and mountain bikes, where tire pressures can vary considerably.
