Torque Tools

Bicycles use lightweight materials such as Aluminum and Carbon Fiber to reduce weight, improving your efficiency while riding. Even bicycles costing only a few hundred will have lightweight components such as the Stem, a critical part for steering the bike. These lightweight materials provide strength where needed but are delicate when it comes to tightening the bolts that hold them on the bike. Under-tightening means that things like steering will not work. Over-tightening can cause nearly invisible cracks and the bike can break while you are riding it. The added weight and forces when you are riding along are often the kicker. Incorrect tightening most likely leads to a crash and possible injury.

Traditional Torque tools are expensive, heavy and purpose built only to provide measured tightening. Their functionality is delicate, and the slightest misuse or drop means you need to send it to a service center for re-calibration. Even unscrewing a screw will harm any typical torque wrench.
